Nuit Blanche ’13

Oh, Washington D.C. The city of boys clubs, politics, and fancy steak dinners. This is not the first city that comes to mind as a place for artists and creative minds to meet and flourish. However, there is an art scene here — and a very diverse one at that. Artists, painters, musicians, and creative souls are finding an outlet for their energy in the depths of the city’s cultural hubs. Last night, D.C. celebrated that artistic flavor with Nuit Blanche, Art All Night. Nuit Blanche, meaning “White Night” in French, is a tradition started in France. Museums, galleries, and art spaces host the public free of charge to experience the city as a de facto art gallery. Quite an awesome idea.
